ORNAMENTAL LEOPARD SHARK

Long Beach, USA

2026

Painted for the prestigious Long Beach Walls festival in California, this large-scale mural presents the zebra shark (also commonly known as the leopard shark) as a powerful, elegant, and majestic figure. For a city so deeply and historically connected to the ocean, the artwork seeks to bring visibility to a fascinating marine species that is often overlooked. Beautiful, unique, and sadly endangered, the zebra shark is becoming increasingly difficult to encounter in the wild, mainly due to the pressures of overfishing and the global destruction of coral reefs. Located on the iconic facade of the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, this was one of those walls that commands immediate attention, blending the organic lines of the marine fauna with the architecture to create a permanent visual tribute to the fragile beauty of our ocean’s ecosystems. This project was curated by Long Beach Walls, Worldwide Walls, and Creative Class LB.
